Life is not always smooth sailing. There are highs and lows, turns and tumbles and it’s enough to make your head spin. Even though we don’t ever want to admit it, experiencing moments of crisis is to be expected.
How do you know you’re undergoing a life crisis? In addition to an overall feeling of uncertainty about the future, this happens:

It’s all about how you choose to handle it, which is why, in this article, I want to walk you through four things to tell yourself during a moment like this:
When life presents us with the unpleasant and the uncertainty, most people tend to bottle up their feelings as a way to resist what is happening.
Sometimes, these moments are triggered by an event, like a loved one passing away or a break-up. But most of the times, they are the result of internal turmoil and lack of purpose.
Getting into mental patterns of resistance will only create more tension and suffering. You can’t just ignore your feelings, hoping they will just go away.
It’s best to acknowledge your emotions and see what is causing them. And one of the best ways to get connected to your true self is by practicing meditation.Â
Meditation helps you shape a deeper understanding of your mind and your authentic self. During meditation, you withdraw yourself from the external world.
You let go of fears, doubts and others’ expectations of you. You’ll begin to experience a heightened sense self-awareness and be able to unlock the most profound mystery of who you are.Â
Most people are afraid of change because change often requires stepping outside their comfort zone and trying things which are new, which comes in contradiction with the need for stability.Â
The parts of yourself which are resistant to change will often cause stress in your system and stir up the energies in both your physical and subtle body. It’s like trying to swim against the tide.
The secret is to embrace the reality of the fact things can’t stay the same forever and learn to set your sail so the winds of change take you in the direction of your purpose.
Remember change often comes in response to a moment of crisis. See it as an opportunity to evolve into a more loving, more open and more honest version of yourself.
It’s difficult to see the light of the end of the tunnel and unconditionally accept a form of the present which is causing you pain and suffering.
But training your mind to accept and live in this moment in your life will actually help you connect to an environment of ease and peace.
It’s essential to stay grounded in presence and remind yourself that with every minute which passes by, you move forward. Meditation is all about teaching people how to live more in the present and expand their awareness.Â
